The R.R. Smith Center for History and Art is a collaboration of three leading cultural organizations in the Staunton/Augusta County area of the Shenandoah Valley: Augusta County Historical Society, Historic Staunton Foundation and the Staunton Augusta Art Center. The Center is housed in what was originally the Eakleton Hotel, a 25,000 square foot building designed in 1894 by noted local architect T.J. Collins.
The Center is also available for wedding receptions or other special events. Gallery spaces and a memorial garden provide bright and open settings for receptions and parties. Amenities include an on-site catering kitchen, fully accessible elevator, restrooms and a city parking garage with handicapped spaces across the street. Call 540-885-2028 to learn more.
